  • "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

Happenings
I have long since neglected my little corner of the Web, finding lately I spend time updating Facebook instead. Well, here's a brief rundown of things:

I got married back in June to Dena Allen. We had an awesome honeymoon in Aruba with our friends the Millers. We headed back to Wilson two weeks later for a reception celebration. That reminds me, I need to add pictures from that day on my site.

June also saw the sell of Fifty Fifty Lounge and Grill. I miss that place and it seems like a world away from life at this point. I had many unforgettable experiences there and I'm glad those walls don't talk. Its now a steakhouse, but people tell me its about the same as Fifty Fifty, except the dining room is painted red. I guess thats pretty flattering!

I've been working at RealMed Corporation since the begining of Febuary. I am a System Administrator specializing in System Center Configuration Manager. Its a great experience and I get to work with cutting edge technology daily.

Dena and I are looking forward to heading to my parents mountain house in NC in a few weeks. It will also be a great chance to get all of our wedding gifts from the reception. We will also be heading back to Wilson at the end of September for Adam Thomas's wedding.

At a Glance
Movies: I enjoy most films by Kevin Smith. Over the past few months, I have been downloading movies on my Tivo. I really dug "Hot Tub Time Machine", "Zombieland", "This is It", and "The Hangover".
Music: Hmmm...What's on the iPOD as of lately..."Skeleton Boy" by The Friendly Fires, "Empire State of Mind" by Jay-Z, "Raditude" by Weezer, and "Kings and Queens" by 30 Seconds to Mars.
Television: First off, I only watch Tivo when I do sit in front of the TV. Tivo captures goodies like "Two and a Half Men", "Dexter", "30 Rock", and stuff from the History Channel.
Books: "Setting the Table" by Danny Meyers. The book hit so close to home I felt like I could have easily written the first 4 chapters myself. It is an awesome read for anyone in the Hospitality Industry. I am also reading the new Dan Brown book "The Lost Symbol".
